REQUEST FOR PARTICIPATION LETTER
January 25, 2014
From: “Sustainable Living Skills Fair” Organizing Committee
To: All interested parties
Subject: Participation in “Sustainable Living Skills Fair” on Saturday, April 19, 2014
Dear Friends,
We would like to invite you to participate in a Sustainable Living Skills Fair. The Fair is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, and will be held at the Jefferson Community Center at 1000 B Street in Eureka.
The Fair will provide a forum for sharing skills around gardening, food preparation, and permaculture, as well as other skills and resources for creating healthy, safe, resilient and self-sufficient families and communities. We previously held a Sustainable Living Fair last November, which was a tremendous success, and now we are looking to expand the skill sharing opportunities for a second event.
We welcome your participation now in planning, fund raising, advertising, and organizing the event, or in being part of the event. Opportunities to participate at the event include facilitating instructional presentations of 50 or 100 minutes in length, leading a demonstration, having a table at which organizations and community groups can conduct outreach, or volunteering. Currently, we are meeting regularly to plan the event, with our next planning meeting scheduled Monday, February 3 from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at Jefferson Center (1000 B St, Eureka). Also, we are planning for food to be served and to offer language interpretation and a playroom for children.
If you would like to participate or have questions,
please contact Rich at (707) 497-6137 or [email protected].
Thanks for your consideration of this exciting community event!!
Sincerely,
Organizing Committee of the Sustainable Living Skills Fair
(including passionate community members and representatives from Transition Humboldt, North Coast Community Garden Collaborative, Humboldt Permaculture Guild, Locally Delicious, Inc., and the Jefferson Community Center)
